Our carbon footprint
Why carry out a carbon audit?
Today, climate change is a major issue affecting our ecosystems and, more broadly, civilization. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), it is essential to reduce CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030 to limit global warming to 1.5°C compared with the pre-industrial era.
In this context, it is imperative that all players, including companies, take action. At TheAssistant, we have decided to measure and reduce our environmental impact, starting with our first carbon footprint.

The carbon balance process
Carried out with Greenly, our carbon footprint covers all direct and indirect emissions for 2022, helping us to precisely identify sources of emissions and opportunities for reduction.
This footprint enabled us to receive Silver certification, reflecting our initial and serious commitment to climate action.
However, this footprint should be viewed with caution as it is based mainly on monetary estimates of emissions, where each euro spent is converted into kilograms of CO2 emitted.

Commitments and future actions
Aware of the need to reduce our emissions to minimize our impact on the climate, we are aiming for a significant reduction in our GHG emissions of 1.5% by 2030 compared with our 2022 levels.
Our efforts will focus primarily on optimizing our IT servers and reducing the impact of our digital hardware.

Carbon tax
Aware that some emissions will remain incompressible despite our efforts, we also contribute to significant environmental projects to offset these. These initiatives include:
-India Gujarat State Wind Farm Project: Development of renewable energy in Gujarat, India.
-Unitor REDD + Forest Protection Project : Protection of forests and promotion of biodiversity in the Amazon.
These projects are not just offsetting mechanisms, but also efforts to support local communities and promote sustainable practices on a global scale. Our ambition is to increase our support for these projects as we grow.
